Red dress still in progress!

I thought it was time I finally got around to finishing this little red dress that I started at least 12 months ago, where does the time go?

Hi everyone, just to let you know I am still here!

Interlined the bodice and stitched the sleeves

Hi everyone, I made up the new bodice with the pleated sleeves this week, the pattern instructions said to stitch the sleeve hems by machine but I thought it would be nice to hand stitch the hems of the sleeves instead.

At last - red dress in progress!

I have finally started stitching the red dress (Simplicity Pattern 2588) I told you about in my last post way back in June, better late than never!

I have not been sewing since making my blue dress, however, I get so many compliments  when I wear it I was inspired to get on with sewing the red dress for the summer. 

More fabric for another dress.

I have my next pattern and fabric lined up to make another summer dress, I am making it in this red 100% cotton and will be following the instructions for the green view on the pattern, it will probably be trimmed with some nice white trim along the waistline and hem. I will be interlining it as I love the way it makes the dress feel and gives a much better drape to the fabric.
